Personal Interests
Golf, tennis, boating and reading are a few of Dr. Rater's leisure activities. He and his wife, Mary Jo, also spend time visiting their five children.
"Balloons, stents and clot-preventing drugs have dramatically improved our ability to treat heart attacks. But my chief goal remains prevention of heart disease. I try to educate patients in risk factor modification and prompt recognition of symptoms of heart attack and unstable angina so they may receive treatment immediately."
